Ideal book for anyone with an interest in Art Deco and its application to housing and architecture. The authors own illustrations complement the archival images, as well as contemporary photographs of beautiful details of houses and apartment buildings in various parts of Britain. This is great as both an introduction to the topic for those uninitiated and wanting to know more, and to broaden an existing interest (in my case). The one thing I think would make it even better would be a comprehensive list of where the various images of details and houses are located - though notable estates such as Silver End in Essex are featured and noted by name and photos, it would be good to see where the more anonymous bits have been found. Still, it adds a further sense of mystery to an already elusive style and helps us appreciate it further.
When we wrote this book, we wanted it to be for young men and women who struggle every day with hard choices, tough family situations, and big questions about their futures. It is filled with the voices of teenagers facing the same challenges that you might be dealing with right now - drugs, anger, violence, gangs, and questions about who you really are. And while this book doesnt have all the answers, it can definitely help you uncover the power, strength, and wisdom that already exists inside of you. The power might be hiding or out of sight. But make no mistake...
