Enter for a chance to win one of 10 hardcover copies of THE TRAVELERS GIFT!

In THE TRAVELERS GIFT by Danielle Davidson, illustrated by Anne Lambelet, when a lonely boy meets a traveling storyteller, the power of a magical gift is handed down.

Liam loved his fatherís stories of life at sea. But one day, his fatherís ship doesnít return, and Liamís love of stories fades. Then the Traveler, a mysterious old man who spins stories with a magical beard like a tapestry, arrives, reminding Liam of his father. They embark on the Travelerís final voyage together, and before the journey ends, the Traveler passes on his magical gift to Liam.

Woven with themes of loss, discovery, and friendship, this poignant tale captures the unexpected magic of shared stories and refound hope.

Children's Books for January Celebrations

Creating a Book List is a great way to engage your children! This book list is one of my favorites to share for reading with your students. With so many fun ideas to go over with your students or your children about the past year and the new year ahead, this book list is perfect to begin with in your classroom! The Night Before New Years is a fun story about how a family celebrates this special evening. Bringing in the New Year by Grace Lin. A perfect introduction to this holiday for young readers.

Holiday books are not usually in short supply and there are quite a lot of books about Chinese New Year and Rosh Hashanah, but surprisingly few for the January 1st holiday. I was even able to rustle up picture books that describe the way people around the world celebrate, plus diverse celebrations from different cultures here at home. Note: Book covers and titles are affiliate links. This is a great book of poetry which introduces kids and grown-ups! I love this gentle reassuring book about how cycles of events continue to come and go. Read it all year long. Happy New Year, Spot!
