642 Things to Write About Journal
Last Christmas, my sister, who is a far more thoughtful gift-giver than I am, bought me a clever book titled Things to Write About. The book is a list of — as you might well guess — writing prompts. It's like journaling with structure. As part of my more random side, I am setting this book beside my computer with hopes of eventually writing on all topics less a small handful which are too salacious for general publication. Some prompts will do little more than inspire a few bullet points, but there are others which may prick my ambitions. Just to be clear, I do not plan to be particularly ritualistic about this. Nor do I intend to make any firm commitments about how long this will take…this is strictly a pleasure cruise.

Collected from the minds and notebooks of the San Francisco Writers' Grotto, the book's prompts range from personal reflection, to silly lyric writing, to character development, and everything in between and beyond.
